Now they set themselves on fire outside his hotel.“You start getting a bit paranoid,” he admits. “Looking around when you’re walking down the street, in case you get mobbed by teenage girls.” When Pattinson, 23, shot his latest film, romantic drama Remember Me, in New York, the hysteria almost killed him. Spotted by a bunch of ‘Twi-hards’ (as his obsessive fans are known), he crossed the road – narrowly missing being hit by a taxi. Everywhere, fans crowded to watch him shoot scenes with co-star Emilie de Ravin. “It was mad,” he says. “I didn’t see it coming. I thought it was going to be a little film shot in New York, and I’d be able to just hang out!” For Pattinson, those days are long gone. “I spend a lot of time trying to figure out how to not be seen,” he explains. “It’s annoying but the pay-off is infinite. If no one finds out where you’re staying, if people aren’t following you, or outside a restaurant if you have dinner there… then it’s great.” The big question is over his relationship with Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart. The pair reputedly got together when filming New Moon, but when Stewart collected the Orange Rising Star Bafta in February, they arrived separately – presumably to avoid a ‘Twi-hard’ riot. Robert Pattinson was cloaked in black and his now-familiar top hat on the set of Bel Ami in Budapest, Hungary, today. It’s April 1, which means that there’s an awful lot of Robert and Twilight-related trickery on the Internet, though most of you say you haven’t had any foolish moments. Los Angeles Confidential has a new interview with Uma Thurman, who will be one of the actresses staring alongside Eclipse’s #1 Vampire Robert Pattinson.
In the interview she touches base on Robert, and her role in the movie -

Robert Pattinson’s mom wants him to have a baby with his Twilight costar and girlfriend Kristen Stewart!
Insiders say Clare Pattinson is keen for her superstar son — who is fast becoming Hollywood’s hottest star — to start a family with Kristen because she thinks it’ll help keep Rob’s feet firmly on the ground.
“Rob’s mom Clare believes the responsibilities of raising a child would help keep him grounded as his success in showbiz continues to explode,” a source said.
“She doesn’t think there’s anything wrong with them having a baby at a young age. She simply adores Kristen and is already treating her like a daughter-in-law.”
Kristen, insiders say, even suggested she and Rob, 23, move to England to be closer to his family.
“Kristen has been spending more time with Rob’s parents, and they love her and she loves them,” the insider told the National Enquirer.
“Clare just knew Kristen was The One. Rob knows his mom’s not been wrong about anything yet. He’s taking her advice about Kristen VERY seriously.”

Twilight Saga franchise star Robert Pattinson has finally found a studio film to sink his teeth into. He's in talks to star in Water for Elephants, the Richard LaGravanese-scripted adaptation of the Sara Gruen novel that Fox 2000 is putting together with Francis Lawrence directing. Reese Witherspoon is already attached, and the studio is courting Sean Penn to return from a big screen sabbatical by playing the other lead in the Depression-era romantic triangle. The novel was a runaway bestseller, and in keeping with the eclectic output of Fox 2000's Elizabeth Gabler. Gil Netter, Erwin Stoff and Andrew Tennenbaum are producing.Pattinson is in talks to play Jacob, a 21 year old who joins a second-rate traveling circus after he’s traumatized by the car crash death of both parents. He left just before he was to take his veterinary medicine exams at an Ivy League school, and finds his place in the circus by caring for the menagerie of mangy animals. He falls in love with Marlena, the show’s star performer (Witherspoon), and that's courting danger since she's married to the paranoid schizophrenic animal trainer who runs the show. That is the role that Penn is circling. Deals still have to be made, and putting three pricey stars in a period adult drama is a challenging proposition.(Gozde: Jacob? Seriously? :) Rob is so NOT a Jacob)Pattinson, who between Twilight segments starred for Summit in Remember Me, has been cautious about choosing his next job, but the prospect of starring in another well-known literary adaptation, potentially alongside two Oscar winners, seems a strong move. The hope is to get the picture into production around June, before he returns for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.Penn, who took a sabbatical for personal reasons, has also resurfaced as a potential Larry Fine in The Three Stooges.
